Caramelized Onions recipe


1 tablespoon of olive oil.
2 large onions, thinly sliced.
2 tablespoons of red wine.
1 teaspoon of sugar.
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste.


In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Sauté the onions, stirring frequently, for about 15 minutes or until very soft.

Reduce the heat to low and add the red wine and sugar.

Cook for 20 minutes or until the liquid is nearly evaporated, stirring occasionally.

Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Serve hot over burgers.
